Description

Nuestro conocimiento de la fauna zooplanctónica, en toda la costa mexicana, es aún escaso, y los pocos estudios que existen son aislados y no secuenciales. Es por eso que en este proyecto se pretende estudiar y difundir los datos de varios grupos del zooplancton que fueron recolectados desde el año 1988 (medusas), 1990 (copépodos, eufáusidos) y otros colectados de manera sistemática durante 1995-1998 (larvas de peces y quetognatos), conforman cerca de 70 sitios georeferenciados, ubicadas en tres Áreas Marinas Prioritarias del Jalisco y Colima. Se creará una base de datos en versión BIOTICA con la información de los organismos encontrados y los datos de los sitios de recolección. Se creará una colección de referencia con por lo menos un ejemplar de cada una de las distintas especies identificadas. Se calcula obtener un mínimo de 100 especies de larvas de peces, 20 especies de medusas, 40 especies de copépodos, 5 especies de eufaúsidos y 11 especies de quetognatos, más de 10, 000 registros curatoriales y 6100 ejemplares a partir de 50 localidades georreferenciadas y más de 300 muestras analizadas.
