Con base en la información generada se discutirá si las poblaciones de A. angustifolia en la península de Yucatán están diferenciadas en ecotipos, si las variantes de henequén existentes hoy en día derivan de alguno o algunos ecotipo(s) de A. angustifolia que crecen en la península y, si estas variantes de henequén representan diferentes estadios evolutivos con respecto al silvestre. Así mismo, se discutirán los cambios en variación genética y morfológica del henequén y se plantearán el uso integral y recomendaciones relacionadas con la conservación y el uso integral del germoplasma disponible.
