Description
El objetivo general del proyecto es determinar la distribución actual y la estructura de población de Gopherus [Xerobates] berlandieri, en México. Los resultados y productos generados son el conocimiento de la distribución actual, estructura y densidad de población, además de generar una base de datos con dicha información. El estudio se basa en el muestreo del área de distribución reportada en los estados de Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí y Veracruz, en donde se aplicarán encuestas y se realizarán transectos en línea para la búsqueda de tortugas y rastros. Para cada registro se anotará la geoposición, altitud, temperatura y humedad ambiental. Se publicará una monografía con dicha información.
